Steadier HD, and a quieter update

Jul 25, 2026 1 release

HD now recovers on its own if your connection briefly drops or your camera stalls mid-session, instead of ending the swap, and you're never charged for the reconnecting gap. Updates show as a subtle progress ring in the corner, plus a round of visual polish.

v1.5.5 Latest
Download

Improved

  • A quieter update indicator — while an update downloads it shows as a small progress ring in the bottom-left corner, then becomes a "Restart & Update" when it's ready, instead of a banner
  • A more consistent look — a round of typography polish across Settings and the app for a more cohesive, premium feel

Fixed

  • HD recovers on its own — if your connection briefly drops or your camera stalls mid-session (a laptop sleeping and waking, a wifi handoff), HD reconnects and picks the swap back up instead of ending the session, and you're never charged for the reconnecting gap

Stability hotfix

Jul 23, 2026 1 release

A quick fix for a couple of issues some people saw after 1.5.3: brief sign-outs, and a momentary HD lock, that recovered on their own, most likely with the Popout or Preview window open.

v1.5.4
Download

Fixed

  • No more momentary sign-outs — fixed an issue where the app could briefly log you out and blank your account info, and momentarily lock HD, before recovering on its own; it was most likely with the Popout or Preview window open
  • HD no longer flickers to "locked" for a moment when your connection hiccups

Cheaper HD, smoother OBS, and quieter updates

Jul 22, 2026 1 release

HD now costs the same as Standard, so your credits last twice as long; your OBS output stays connected when you pause and resume; updates download quietly in the background; and a fresh install starts you on the best engine you can use. Plus a one-click hide-my-camera control on the stage and a cleaner Settings screen.

v1.5.3
Download

New

  • A hide-my-camera toggle right on the stage — one click, next to the mirror and prompt controls, to hide or show your real camera on the output without opening Settings

Improved

  • HD is cheaper — 2 credits/second (down from 4), the same rate as Standard, so your credits last twice as long in HD
  • OBS output stays connected — turning your stream off and back on no longer blanks the source or makes you re-drag the link; it holds the connection and resumes instantly, showing a clean placeholder while paused
  • Quieter updates — they download silently in the background; instead of a red error bar on a connection hiccup you just see a small "Update ready" when one's finished, and it applies automatically the next time you close the app
  • Starts you on the best engine — a fresh install picks the best engine you can use (HD if you have it, otherwise Standard) and falls back to one that works if any is unavailable; if you already chose an engine, it's kept
  • A cleaner Settings screen — smoother switching between sections and a more refined, premium layout

Fixed

  • "Show built-in characters" now hides all of MorphMe's characters (the built-in ones and the ones downloaded from the cloud), leaving only your own saved characters

HD mode, live prompt edits, and a more polished app

Jul 21, 2026 1 release

MorphMe now has an HD swap engine (Lucy 2.5) for sharper swaps, a prompt bar and a background bar for editing your live swap on the fly, and a polish pass across the whole app. The bell now confirms payments, credit changes, and low balances; camera handling is sturdier; and the quality picker names each engine clearly.

v1.5.2
Download

New

  • HD mode — a new high-quality swap engine (Lucy 2.5) for sharper, smoother swaps; buy the Starter pack or any pack above it and HD unlocks for good, no subscription (Standard is unchanged)
  • A prompt bar for live edits — turn it on, type an edit like "add round glasses," and it applies to your live swap; optional and off by default
  • A background bar — set a scene for your swap, like "a sunlit beach," right next to the prompt bar without leaving the stage
  • Smarter notifications — the bell confirms your payments, tells you when credits are added, and gives a heads-up before you run low; product news and offers can be muted, and account alerts always come through

Improved

  • A more premium feel throughout — refined cards and icons, stronger contrast, and buttons that respond when you press them; swaps start cleanly with no black flash or layout jump
  • Sturdier cameras — better handling when a camera is busy or briefly unavailable, with automatic fallback so more setups connect on the first try
  • Clearer engine choice — the quality picker now names each engine: Standard, Smooth, and HD

Fixed

  • Many stability and quality fixes across the new HD engine, the camera pipeline, and live prompt editing

New characters, more privacy, and pay for what you see

Jul 12, 2026 1 release

The biggest MorphMe update yet: a growing 'More characters' collection to swap into, a privacy default that keeps your real face hidden if a swap ever drops, and a credit meter that only counts once your swapped video is actually on screen. Plus a redesigned character panel with a first-run tour, sharper WebRTC swaps (Lucy 2.5), and a faster, lighter app.

v1.5.0
Download

New

  • More characters — a new collection of ready-made characters to swap into, alongside the ones you create; it grows over time
  • Never show my real face (on by default) — if a swap fails or your connection drops, MorphMe freezes your last swapped frame instead of showing your real camera
  • Redesigned character panel with a quick first-run tour that points out where everything lives

Improved

  • Lucy 2.5 in WebRTC mode — sharper, better-quality swaps (the default WebSocket engine is unchanged)
  • Faster and lighter — smaller download and no per-second slowdown during long swaps
  • Premium character cards with refined hover, a cleaner selected state, and a more polished delete confirmation
  • Clearer credit prompts that explain why the purchase screen opened, plus network hints to switch engines when your setup blocks one

Fixed

  • Pay only for what you see — the timer and credit counter now start when your swapped video actually appears, not the moment you connect
  • Mirror applies instantly during a live swap instead of only before you start
  • The camera picker is locked mid-swap so there are no confusing no-op changes
  • The character panel no longer shakes when you move your mouse across it
  • Smoother swaps on shaky networks with better recovery and cleaner transitions

Steady sessions, and a clear view of your credits

Jun 20, 2026 1 release

Stay signed in through long swaps and see exactly how your credits are spent. This release fixes the issue that could sign you out in the middle of a swap, and swaps now ride out a brief connection drop instead of sometimes ending with a "rate limited" error. A new Account & usage link opens your account on the web, where you can review every swap session and exactly how your credits were spent, with your running balance. You can also switch swap engines right from the main screen, support pages open reliably instead of a blank browser window, crypto payments are steadier, and the app's security is tighter under the hood.

v1.4.2
Download

New

  • See where your credits go — a new Account & usage link opens your account on the web, where you can review every swap session and exactly how your credits were spent, with your running balance
  • Switch swap engines right from the main screen, without opening Settings

Improved

  • Tighter security under the hood — strengthened the app's window and process protections, and your sign-in details never appear in logs

Fixed

  • No more surprise logouts in the middle of a swap
  • Swaps now ride out a brief connection drop instead of sometimes ending with a "rate limited" error
  • Help, bug reports, data export, and account requests open your support page reliably instead of a blank browser window
  • The crypto payment screen no longer gets stuck while confirming, and payment confirmations are more reliable

Smoother, steadier, clearer

Jun 15, 2026 1 release

A polish and reliability release on top of the new engine. The character you had selected is now ready the moment the app opens, so your first swap just works without re-selecting it. A bug that could cut a swap short with a "rate limited" message — even when nothing was wrong on your end — is fixed, so sessions run more steadily. The preview window no longer lags when you maximize it, recording problems now surface clearly instead of failing silently, and error and status messages across the app are shorter and easier to act on. Rounding it out is a pass of interface polish across dialogs, the character library, the warmup screen, and status chrome.

v1.4.1
Download

Improved

  • Error and status messages across the app are tighter and easier to read, while still telling you what to do next
  • A pass of interface polish across dialogs, the character library, the warmup screen, and status chrome for a cleaner, more consistent feel
  • Maximizing the preview window is now smooth and lag-free

Fixed

  • The character you had selected is now active the moment the app opens — no need to re-select it before your first swap
  • Fixed an issue that could cut a swap short with a "rate limited" message even when nothing was wrong on your end
  • Recording problems now surface clearly instead of failing silently — if a recording can't start or save, the app tells you

A sharper new swap engine

Jun 11, 2026 1 release

A brand-new real-time engine runs your swaps with noticeably cleaner, sharper output, and it's now the default. You can switch engines anytime in Settings: the alternative engine is faster and smoother on older or lower-end PCs, so pick whichever suits your machine. This release also adds auto-record (recording starts the moment your swap goes live), makes stopping a recording reliable even after a session ends, fixes a crash when opening the camera picker in Settings, and lets saved characters remember the mode you saved them in.

v1.4.0
Download

New

  • A new default swap engine with noticeably cleaner, sharper output. It warms up for a few seconds at the start of each swap, then runs smoothly
  • Two engines you can switch between anytime in Settings under Swap engine. The alternative is faster and smoother on older or lower-end PCs, so pick whichever suits your machine
  • Auto-record swaps. A new Settings toggle starts recording the moment your swap goes live so you never miss the opening (off by default; the record button still works as before)

Improved

  • Saved characters now remember the mode they were saved in (Default, Identity, or Scene) and return to it when you select them again
  • A clearer connection status and a small engine indicator now show exactly which engine is running

Fixed

  • Stopping a recording now reliably saves your file, even after the swap session has already ended
  • Opening the camera picker in Settings no longer crashes the app
  • Switching characters mid-swap now applies cleanly on the new engine

Clearer errors when a session can't start

Jun 1, 2026 1 release

A reliability release focused on one frustrating problem: starting a swap and getting nothing — no video and no explanation. Now when a session can't get going (your network blocked the video, the connection dropped, or it timed out waiting for the first frame) the app tells you exactly what happened and gives you a one-click Try Again instead of silently doing nothing — and no credits are charged when a session fails to produce video. A common cause, a VPN or firewall blocking the video stream, now gets called out by name with a suggestion to turn the VPN off and reconnect.

v1.3.8
Download

Improved

  • When a session can't start, you now get a clear on-screen message AND a one-click 'Try Again' button — no more clicking Begin Swap and having nothing happen with no explanation
  • Connect-but-no-video sessions caused by a VPN, firewall, or restricted network now say so directly and suggest turning your VPN off before reconnecting

Fixed

  • Failed sessions that produce no video now reliably surface their error (timed out, dropped connection, unstable network, expired sign-in) — several of these previously tore down silently, leaving the app looking like it did nothing after you clicked Begin Swap
  • A background loop that kept retrying after a sign-in expired now stops cleanly and recovers when you sign back in — it was generating internal error noise and unnecessary network chatter

Payment flow hotfix

May 27, 2026 1 release

Same-day hotfix on top of v1.3.6 after a user reported two real problems with the new payment flow. The persistent banner you click into mid-payment now restores the full payment panel (it was opening empty), and you can now cancel a payment in progress and pick a different package or payment method.

v1.3.7
Download

New

  • 'Cancel this payment' button on both crypto and card in-flight panels — click it and you're back at the package picker to pick a different package or switch payment method. Cancelling doesn't charge your wallet (and if you already sent crypto, those credits will still land when the network confirms).

Fixed

  • Reopening the payment panel via the top banner mid-payment now correctly restores the full in-flight view — the payment URL, the elapsed timer, the Reopen and Copy buttons. It was opening an empty modal in v1.3.6, leaving users with a banner that counted up but no way to reach the actual payment page.

Payment trust + UI polish

May 27, 2026 1 release

A big quality release. The crypto payment flow now actually talks to you when things take longer than a minute — a confirmation email when credits land, a soft reassurance email if a transaction stalls in the network, a persistent banner that stays visible at the top of the app if you close the Buy Credits panel mid-payment, and a 'Recheck status' self-serve button after 5 minutes of waiting. Plus a head-to-toe UI cleanup: Buy Credits got a real visual hierarchy with proper Visa / Mastercard / crypto brand logos at the right size, the Begin Swap button has a premium pulsing active state with a live MM:SS timer inside it, switching prompt modes now always lands you on the correct default, and the icon system was rebuilt from scratch (every icon in the app is now from the same family at the same weight).

v1.3.6
Download

New

  • 'Your credits are in' email — the moment your crypto payment confirms and credits land, you get a clean transactional email so you're never wondering if it worked
  • 'Taking a bit longer' email — if a payment sits mid-confirmation for over 30 minutes (rare; happens on a congested network), a short note explains what's going on and tells you NOT to send again
  • Persistent payment banner — close the Buy Credits panel mid-payment and a thin strip at the top keeps you posted on status + elapsed time. Click it to reopen exactly where you left off. Survives full app restart.
  • 'Recheck status' button — after 5 minutes waiting on a crypto confirmation, a self-serve button lets you re-poll NowPayments without contacting support
  • Live session timer inside the Begin Swap button — when streaming, the button shows MM:SS right inside it so you always know exactly how long the session has been running

Improved

  • Buy Credits redesigned — packages now read as a real hierarchy (Mid is the featured 'most popular' tier), the payment-method selector shows actual Visa / Mastercard / crypto brand logos at the right size with proper colors, and the buy button shows the price right inside it
  • Begin Swap button — premium active state with a pulsing white dot, rounded white stop glyph (no more anxious-looking idle pulse), and a soft outer halo while live. Idle state is calmer; active state is unmistakably live.
  • Mode switching in the prompt panel always lands you on the correct default for that mode now. Switching between Default / Replace scene / Lock my face is a clean reset, not a 'where did my prompt go' mystery.
  • Settings panel dropped the AI-template look — denser, more like Linear or Stripe Dashboard. The billing icon is finally a credit card instead of looking like a crypto gem.
  • Help drawer flattened — FAQ items lost their card chrome (hairline dividers only), and the support links live in a single footer strip at the bottom
  • Icon system overhaul — every icon in the app is now from the same family (Lucide) at the same weight (1.75 stroke). Consistency you might not consciously notice but you'll feel.

Fixed

  • Style preset chip rail no longer goes blank or shows a stale chip after you switch modes — Default Swap is always selected after a mode change, as expected
  • Identity-lock mode is now guaranteed to route through Lucy 2's identity-preserving pathway. The old behavior could silently subvert your 'Lock my face' choice if you had picked a style chip first.

Starter characters work again

May 24, 2026 1 release

Quick bug-fix release. Two things were quietly off — both fixed. Starter characters (Vampire Lord, Anime Hero, Cyberpunk Operator, Old Sage) now work the moment you pick them; a path-format mismatch in the Library selection code meant the bundled starter image wasn't reaching Decart properly, so you'd see a generic error and have to upload your own image to make anything happen. Plus quieter internal error noise — brief network blips no longer light up our alerts as if something serious failed.

v1.3.5
Download

Improved

  • Brief network blips (laptop wakes, wifi reconnects) are now correctly classified as transient — internal error alerts stay quiet for connectivity hiccups so real failures stand out

Fixed

  • Starter characters (Vampire Lord, Anime Hero, Cyberpunk Operator, Old Sage) silently failed at the model after v1.3.2 due to a path-format mismatch in the Library selection code — you'd see 'Something went wrong' on pick. Now resolved end-to-end.

Safety & disclosure tooling

May 23, 2026 1 release

MorphMe Live now ships with the safety surfaces a real-time character-swap app needs in 2026: a one-time consent attestation on first reference-image upload, a polished Stream Kit that delivers AI-disclosure language as the default tone of ready-to-paste stream metadata, a structured abuse-reporting flow on morphmelive.com/report, and a standalone Acceptable Use Policy that mirrors Decart's AUP. Built for trust, not for friction — the on-stream output is untouched.

v1.3.4
Download

New

  • Upload consent gate — first reference image triggers a three-checkbox attestation: fictional or consented likeness, AI disclosure to your viewers, and acknowledgement of our AUP + Decart's AUP. Acknowledged once per device.
  • Persistent consent reminder under the Workshop upload dropzone, so every upload has a visible cue
  • Stream Kit — three styles (Minimal, Playful, Pro) × three templates (Twitch title, Twitch/Kick panel HTML, YouTube description) with the AI-disclosure language baked into every variant. One-click copy buttons, usage counter, lives in Settings → Stream
  • Settings → Stream redesigned — live-status pill on the header row, larger hero URL card with the drag-to-OBS hint inline, three numbered setup paths with a Recommended badge on Browser Source, and an Output Behavior subsection for swap-only and future toggles
  • Help drawer 'Spotted misuse?' card — Report content button (opens our structured report form) + Read AUP
  • Settings → About — Acceptable Use link added alongside Terms and Privacy
  • AuthScreen footer — Acceptable Use link added alongside Terms and Privacy

Improved

  • Product-support email canonicalised to hello@morphmelive.com across the app (was split between thetoolshub.net and morphmelive.com)
  • All external URLs now go through lib/constants.ts (ACCEPTABLE_USE_URL, REPORT_ABUSE_URL) so the next URL rename is one edit instead of fifteen

Credit balance stays in sync, no sign-out needed

May 22, 2026 1 release

Quick fix for a stale-balance issue caught from support reports: if your laptop went to sleep, your network dropped, or the app sat idle for a long stretch, your in-app credit balance could fall out of date with the server. The old workaround was to sign out and back in — that's gone. The number you see is now always the truth, especially right after topping up.

v1.3.3
Download

Improved

  • Window-focus refresh — your balance silently re-syncs whenever you alt-tab back to the app or your laptop wakes from sleep
  • Quiet 30-second background refresh if the live realtime connection drops, so a network hiccup never leaves you staring at a stale number
  • Sweep-fetch on reconnect — when the live connection comes back, we pull one update to catch anything that happened while offline

Fixed

  • Credit balance could go stale after the app sat idle, your laptop slept, or the network briefly dropped — sign-out workaround no longer needed, especially right after topping up

UI polish + new prompt powers

May 19, 2026 1 release

Cleaner workspace, scene/background prompting, and four built-in starter characters so you can swap into a look instantly without uploading anything. v1.3.2 ships as a same-day hotfix on top of v1.3.1's redesign.

v1.3.2
Download

New

  • 'Replace scene / background' prompt mode — describe the environment behind your character (a neon Tokyo alley, a gothic cathedral, a misty mountain temple) and Lucy 2 builds the whole frame around it. Quick presets included.
  • Four built-in starter characters — Anime Hero, Cyberpunk Operator, Vampire Lord, Old Sage — ready to use the moment you launch the app, no reference image required

Improved

  • Cleaner workspace — quieter top bar, a live credit indicator that only appears while you're streaming, consistent labels across the prompt page and stage toggle
  • Stage live-session balance pill — visible only while a swap is active, click to top up, tooltip shows credits-per-second burn
  • All 9 languages updated for the new prompt modes and stage cluster

Fixed

  • Starter character images now load reliably regardless of how the app was launched (hotfix in v1.3.2 over v1.3.1's release)

International payments are back

May 9, 2026 1 release

International customers can buy credits again — added a cryptocurrency payment option (USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL) that works worldwide. Paystack (NGN cards) is unchanged for Nigerian customers. If your Lemon Squeezy credits were revoked, you can now repurchase via crypto and the credits will land within minutes of network confirmation.

v1.3.0
Download

New

  • 'Pay with Crypto' option on the Buy Credits screen — pick whichever crypto you already hold at checkout
  • Real-time credit balance updates after payment — credits appear the moment the network confirms, no manual refresh needed

Improved

  • Buy Credits panel now shows a 'Copy payment link' button on the success screen — recovers gracefully if you accidentally close the browser tab mid-payment
  • Crypto payment status messages tell you exactly what's happening (5–15 min for network confirmation) so you know it's not stuck

Fixed

  • Auto-update pipeline now self-corrects three previous release-script regressions (relative URLs in update manifest, missing size field, stale release notes)

Payment update

May 5, 2026 1 release

Following the suspension of our international payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) on May 5, 2026, the Buy Credits screen has been simplified to show only Paystack while we move to a more stable international setup.

v1.2.0
Download

Improved

  • Buy Credits screen simplified — only the active payment method (Paystack, NGN) is shown while international payments are paused

Fixed

  • Removed the broken international (Lemon Squeezy USD) checkout option from Buy Credits — Lemon Squeezy suspended our store on May 5 and is refunding affected customers; new international rails (Stripe direct) coming in 6 to 8 weeks

Update reliability

May 2, 2026 1 release

Permanent fix for the 'Failed to uninstall old application files' error some users hit when updating to v1.0.8. Closes the race condition that lived inside electron-updater itself.

v1.0.9
Download

New

  • 'What's new' notes now show up before every update so you can see exactly what changed before clicking Restart

Improved

  • New patient-installer launcher polls until the previous version has fully exited before running the upgrade
  • NSIS installer now has a 30-second wait-and-kill safeguard for unusually slow shutdowns
  • Stale failed installers are cleaned up on launch instead of silently retrying on every quit

Fixed

  • 'Failed to uninstall old application files' error during update from v1.0.8 — the new installer no longer races with the old process
  • Auto-on-quit install path (the failing one) is disabled — updates only run when you click 'Restart & Update'
  • Differential downloads disabled — they were failing every time and falling back to full download anyway

Streaming reliability

May 1, 2026 1 release

Targeted fix for OBS browser-source pauses and freezes, plus diagnostic logging so future stream issues are easier to triage.

v1.0.8
Download

Improved

  • OBS browser source no longer pauses or lags when your scene gets heavy — the stream now waits for OBS to catch up instead of letting frames pile up
  • Stream URL in Settings stays live and current — drag-and-drop into OBS always points at the right port
  • Five diagnostic checkpoints now write to the debug log so any future stream issue can be traced to the exact step that failed

Fixed

  • OBS opening to a frozen image when reconnecting to a paused or stopped session — fresh sessions now start clean every time
  • Silent capture errors during fast video swaps no longer break the stream
  • Stale stream URL after port conflict or settings opened before streaming started

Post-launch hardening

Apr 23, 2026 – Apr 24, 2026 4 releases

Four releases over two days hardening auto-update reliability, fixing network resilience, and rolling out international payments.

v1.0.6
Download

Improved

  • Auto-update install is now silent — no hidden dialog can stall the install behind the scenes
  • App relaunches automatically after an update finishes installing

Fixed

  • Stuck-installer bug: previous update flow could close the app without ever installing the new version, leaving users back on the old version after relaunch
  • Field diagnostics: updater activity now writes to a persistent debug log so failed updates can be investigated
v1.0.5
Download

Improved

  • Sessions no longer end on brief network blips — transient stalls self-heal instead of disconnecting you
  • UI timer now mirrors billing exactly — no drift between displayed seconds and what you're charged
  • Stream server and popout window clean up automatically when a session ends

Fixed

  • Premature disconnect bug: reconnect paths now reset stall state so pre-reconnect timestamps no longer kill the new session
  • Duplicate 'end session' calls during race conditions eliminated
  • Deep-link handler no longer logs OAuth tokens in plain text
v1.0.4
Download

Improved

  • Auto-updater now cleanly closes the app before installing — no more 'MorphMe Live cannot be closed' prompt during updates
  • MJPEG stream server shuts down instantly on quit, even with OBS Studio connected

Fixed

  • Update install hang: installer no longer gets stuck waiting for a running MorphMe process
  • Stream server sockets now force-close on app exit instead of waiting for clients to disconnect
v1.0.3
Download

New

  • International payments — buy credit packs with any Visa, Mastercard, or Amex card (USD pricing via Lemon Squeezy)
  • Payment method selector on the Buy Credits screen — choose Nigerian card (Paystack) or International card (Lemon Squeezy)

Improved

  • Checkout flow now works globally — no more Nigerian-only restriction for international users
  • Automatic sales tax / VAT handling for international purchases

Onboarding & polish

Apr 21, 2026 1 release

First post-launch refinement: onboarding flow, help drawer, and settings cleanup.

v1.0.1
Download

New

  • First-run onboarding tour — non-blocking 5-step welcome for new users
  • Help drawer with quick links to support, pricing, and bug reports

Improved

  • Settings page redesigned — merged duplicate balance cards and promoted support buttons
  • Accessibility improvements across the app
  • Clearer error messages when something goes wrong
  • Pricing clarity throughout checkout and credit purchase flows

Fixed

  • "Check for updates" button now shows inline status feedback
  • mailto: links (bug report, support) now open correctly on all platforms
  • Nested modal Escape key behaviour in settings
  • Consolidated Credits section in settings
